You’ve come to a unique hotel in Drenthe. The former service residences 'Toewijding', 'Bitter en Zoet' and 'Plichtgevoel' comprise 15 special hotel rooms. The layout of the original rooms has remained intact and creates a friendly, homely feeling. Each house has its own colour scheme and unique wallpaper, based on the old wallpaper of these residences. Everywhere you look, you can see the original use of the buildings: a terrazzo sink in the bathroom, an old front door next to your room door, rooms with en suite doors, a fireplace. All our rooms have a beautiful view of the (vegetable) garden and the majestic beech avenue.
Bitter en Zoet also has 6 spacious family rooms / apartments.
These are housed in the former hospital ‘Vertrouw op God’.
Bitter en Zoet had an excellent restaurant.
We work with fresh, mostly organic products, preferably from our own garden or the Noorderland region.
