Hotel Amadeus is a city hotel situated in a historical building on the Grote Markt (Market square), one of the most beautiful squares in the Netherlands, located right in the heart of Haarlem. All our "small" rooms have modern amenities which include colour television, radio, safe deposit box, toilet and shower. Futhermore, the hotel has a lift. (Please note that this hotel does have an elevator but only from the first floor. Guests will have to walk from the ground floor to the lift so this accommodation may not be suitable for guests with restricted mobility.) All Dutch safety standards are more than adequately complied with. Public coin operated phone is available.
The Hotel has a cosy, Old-Dutch-style lounge. The lounge interior breathes an air of warmth and hospitality. This lounge is an ideal place to relax after a day full of activity in and around Haarlem.
Hotel Amadeus serves a continental breakfast buffet. You can also make use of the restaurant, which is located in the same building. Haarlem has a richly varied culinary field ranging from pubs and bistros to luxurious restaurants.
The city of Haarlem is more than 750 years old. It is a very lively town, within a stone's throw of the cities Amsterdam and Zandvoort on Sea -a popular seaside resort. Haarlem is known for its many sites and sights. Including the Frans Hals Museum, Teylers Museum, the Grote Kerk (Great Church -formerly St. Bavo's Cathedral), The Stadhuis (City Hall) and the Vleeshal (Butcher's Hall).
The city's center provides excellent shopping oppurtunities. You will find numerous exclusive shops as well as boutiques and department stores. If you are particularly interested in books an antiques then browse around in one of the many specialty shops. In addition, Haarlem features an attractive night life as well as pavement café's where you can sit and watch the crowd.
